CT Ceska Televize use LINK Wireless camera systems for Czech National Canoe Cup
Date: 30-04-2008
The competition for the Czech National Canoe Cup took place on Sunday 21st April at the White Water Centre, Troja in Prague. This event is where the top Czech canoeists compete for a place in the Olympic Games. Troja is an artificial slalom course and participants have to negotiate a series of "gates" along the course, and get through them without incurring time penalties. Ultimately, every second counts, it is a race against the clock.

CT Ceska Televize, the Czech TV Channel, had a few cameras at Troja, but it was a Polecam positioned next to the most critical gate on the course, that got closest to the water and closest to the action - without soaking the cameraman! Link's Czech distributor ART created a complete wireless kit for the Polecam using Link transmitters and receivers. This is all carried in a neat rucksack and the equipment is operated by JC&J for Czech Television.
The wireless transmitters provide remote control and return video for the Polecam. The camera is Toshiba's JK-TU63H - 3CCD mini camera. It uses LinkXP and LinkXPe transmitters with telescopic Tx and Rx antennas. This is a really flexible solution that's already been used for horse racing and ski-jumping as well. ART can supply a similar kit for High Definition cameras.
