LINK was once again at NAB in Las Vegas. The show this year although a little down on overall attendance was attended by more foreign visitors than ever.

nab 2008 The NAB Vislink Group Stand The LINK 7GHz camera systems

LINK were on the Vislink Group stand along with Advent, MRC and WTS, showing their 7GHz HD wireless camera systems  along with the 5W portable amplifier, HD portable receive case, the NEW XPu on board transmitter and a range of specialist antennas.

The 7GHz wireless camera systems proved to be a big talking point with the visitors as this was the first time most of them had seen a system using this high frequency working in a harsh environment. We did live demos all week even walking completely out of the building and getting no break up whatsoever.

Stand ZO - 11

Link was once again exhibiting at the CABSAT show in Dubai.

This is now the fourth year that Link have attended and every year the show gets bigger and better. Link was part of VISLINK group stand along with Advent and MRC showing the latest high definition equipment and solutions. One of the big talking points for Link was the City Centre Cellular Networks. As Link has now put in place over thirty of these around Europe and the US this is becoming more and more relevant for the News broadcasters. By having a cell site set up you can move around the designated area without the need for an OB truck or satellite uplink making this ideal for urban environments. This is also allows you to use your news truck in the more remote locations giving the maximum flexibility for the minimum cost. We spoke to a number of broadcasters about this and demonstrations of this set up are planned in a number of cities in the Middle East.

With the opening of the VISLINK office in Dubai and our new RSM Mather Al Ali in place the Middle East markets for all three companies are looking very strong.

We would like to thanks all those who took the time to visit us at the show and look forward to seeing you again next year.

The exhibition was spread over 6 halls of the Makuhari Messe Exhibition Center in Tokyo, of which 4 halls were dedicated exclusively to video and production. Major themes were the digitisation of the broadcast industry and the move to HD.

Interest in the Link systems was shown by the major Broadcasters as well as production companies. One of the key features of the new L1500 transmitter is the ability to upgrade from SD to HD ion software allowing customers to choose when they make the move to HD.

Over 750 exhibitors had booths at the show and the organisers were hoping for a record number of attendees (35,000 plus).

Sue Gilks, Links RSM for Asia attended the show and would like to thank Moubic for their excellent support and hospitality at the show.

Milipol

Stand 2J84

Milipol Logo

Link exhibited along with Advent and MRC at this years Milipol exhibition in Paris. The show, which concentrates on the security maket, was held at the Paris Expo at the Porte de Varsailles. As part of the Vislink group's push into the security market this was another show where we could showcase our expertise in the broadcast field to the security industry. Again some of the practises that are in use with the news and sports broadcasters were of interest to the visitors who came and saw us. One of the main interests was the city centre cellular diversity networks already in use in the UK and Europe. By showing how this is used there are particular applications where this could be used in this sector.

Report on NAB 2007

Stand C2907

nab2007logo_354

At NAB this year Link showed the prototype L1500 Wireless Camera Transmitter. This is the latest version of their transmitter product and caused a lot of interest as this is their first transmitter which is modular in design and capable of having the RF section swapped for different frequency bands in the field. The other major benefit of this new transmitter is the capability of taking it as a Standard Definition transmitter and upgrading it in software to be High Definition compatible. This is a major advantage to customers who are still deciding when to make the switch to HD. By taking advantage of the Link system they will not be left behind in the race to go HD.

Also on show were the current HD Wireless Camera Systems which were shown doing live demonstrations with full camera control using the Sony and Thomson OCP's. Along with the 5W suitcase amp and the fibre systems Link were able to offer prospective and existing customers a wide range of options for all their current and future production needs.

Report on CABSAT 2007

Stand G2-11

  cabsatlogo_100

Link once again exhibited at the CABSAT exhibition in Dubai. This show is becoming more and more significant as the regions major broadcast companies look to see the latest in broadcast technologies. Link showed their High Definition Wireless Camera System at the show and along with the other Vislink companies Advent and MRC had a major presence on the British Pavilion.

        cabsat_stand_4_320  cabsat_stand_1_200

One of the major discussion points at the show for Link was their City Centre Cellular Diversity which has been rolled out in over thirty European cities. The major news agencies are now looking at this as a big advantage in news gathering as by having a city centre site the need for the traditional news truck is being removed. The news trucks can then be deployed to cover stories that are in more remote areas to then double the broadcaster's resources. This has already been proven in Europe and the US and now the some major Middle East broadcasters are also looking at the possibilities of this technology.

Link would like to thanks all those who took the time to visit us at the show.

Report on IBC - Holland 2006

Stand No 1.161

ibc2006a_202 ibc2006b_200 ibc2006c_200

This years IBC show was a huge success for Link as well as the other partners in the Vislink group, Advent and MRC.

Link received two orders for their wireless camera systems at the show and also won the "Cable and Satellite International" magazines award for the best wireless contribution / distribution / transmission solution product for the LINKXP Camera systems.

We received a very large number of visitors to the stand and the interest in our new products was huge. At times it was hard to see the equipment for the visitors.

New at the show was our fibre extender system, which will give customers more flexibility when it comes mounting receive sites in remote locations. This product looks to be the next step forward in our cellular diversity applications for city centre applications and for stadiums where fibre is becoming the delivery system instead of Triax.

Also new was a clip on control panel for the stand XP transmitter and a 5 watt amplifier built into a portable pelicase to give more options in using the XP camera systems.

Link would like to thank all those who took the time to come and see us and we hope to see you again next year.

Report on BIRTV - China 2006

Stand 452

birttvlogo_105

birttva_200 birttvb_200 birttvc_200

BIRTV 2006 was a great show for Link and its distributor for the China region, NDT.

With the Olympics just around the corner in 2008 the main focus was on HD as this will be the first Olympic games to be transmitted 100% in HD format.

An estimated 50,000 people were expected to attend the 2006 BIRTV show, whichis held over 4 days and as can be seen from the pictures of the first day crowds waiting to get in, it appeared to live up to the predicitions.

The LinkHD was being demonstrated to many interested customers and performed flawlessly during demonstrations around the halls. Confirming it's commitment to the region both Sales Manager, Dave Remnant and Regional Sales Manager, Sue Gilks attended the show.

Link, with the help of our colleagues at NDT won two prestigious awards (for outstanding product) for both the LinkHD wireless camera system and the "cellular diversity networks". There were eight winners of the catergory for the show. A large number of entries resulted in a number of runners up, including Link's sister company Advent, for their 1m motorised flyaway. We look forward to attending the show again in 2007 and thank NDT for their hospitality during our stay in their city.

At this years Broadcast Asia show LINK were part of the Vislink Group stand along with ADVENT and MRC. The show attracted 12700 visitors from all around the Asia Pacific region which was an increase of 30% over the previous year.

LINK showcased their HD wireless camera system for the first time in Asia which generated a lot of interest. Using only 10mW transmit power the system gave complete coverage of both halls 7 & 8 with no break up. The live demo's gave the visitors a very good idea of what can be achieved with the LINK system.

In the Communicasia hall, CNBC used a LINK XP system to broadcast live four times a day throughout the show from their studio in the hall and for shots from the show floor.

Sales Manager, Dave Remnant, gave a presentation on “New Solutions to deliver HD pictures from Digital Wireless Camera Systems in Live Sports” at the BCA Conference. His talk was well attended and gave the delegates food for thought. Also present at the show were Regional Sales Manager Sue Gilks and Sales Co Ordinator Mark Anderson.

LINK were once again at NAB though this time sharing the MRC stand with Advent as part of the VISLINK group.

LINK were once again exhibiting at the CABSAT show in Dubai as part of the VISLINK group stand. This was a new departure for us as we used to exhibit separately in the past but this arrangement proved to be a great success as along with our new HD wireless camera systems we were also able to show the MRC earth station and point to point microwave equipment along with the flyaway systems from ADVENT.

The show this year proved to be even more popular than last time with over 8000 visitors over the three days.

Dave Remnant, Eamonn Gannon and Mark Anderson were on hand to discuss our camera systems and project ideas with prospective clients. We had a steady stream of visitors throughout the show and the cellular diversity network concepts that won the Peter Wayne award for us at IBC proved to be of particular interest to many that stopped by. We are planning to return shortly for demonstrations with specific customers.

We would like to thank all the visitors who took the time to visit us and look forward to seeing you again soon.
